What We Are Not Accepting

  1. We do not accept works that are currently traditionally published elsewhere, in any venue. This includes most forms of digital self-publishing. Exceptions exist. For example, if you published online on your own personal site or on a comic platform for people to view such as Webtoon Canvas or Wattpad where you still retain full rights. However, if it's published by any publishing house or owned by a digital platform such as Webtoon Features it may be denied.
  2. We do not accept works that are not identifiable as fantasy, science fiction, horror, or do not fit the genre we are currently soliciting. For example, we accept romance fantasy or a science fiction thriller, but we will not accept a romance thriller. The genre submitted must contain the elements of fantasy, science fiction, or any genre we are currently seeking. Big Note: We do not except all types of horror, simple slashers, or meaningless gore.
  3. We are not currently interested in tie-in fiction. By this we mean works that exist within already established worlds in previously published novels/comics, or that relies upon a knowledge of previously published novels/comics.
  4. Zero-Tolerance for Drama. We are not interested in representing individuals that do not care to work in a team setting or who have entitlement issues. We seek Creators who believe in the bigger picture and who are willing to grow alongside Otherworlds Inc and other Creators represented or Partnered by us.

Publishing Details

  1. What we pay: We offer royalties, which will be addressed during contract negotiation. The author will be paid quarterly, if their story has sold. Also, the author is given 8 physical copies.
  2. What rights does that give you? Our contract covers the right to publish the story in print, audio, and Ebook formats, worldwide, in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages depending on market need. Most of our print books will be published as a p.o.d. However, we may choose to publish other print editions.
  3. Submit only one work at a time. If you have more than one novel or comic, you may submit only one at a time. You may submit another once we have responded to your first submission. So, please send your best work first.
  4. If you submit simultaneously to www.otherworldsinc.com and other publishing venues, and your story is accepted by a different venue, please immediately withdraw your submission if you accept the offer. Send a message on our contact page. You can also email at: [email protected] with your story title, date submitted, and byline. Please make sure to type "Withdrawal" in your subject line.
